STEM (Sound from the Tropical) is a new film by Lasse Lau about the migration of plants. Years of neglects of the Lisbon University Botanical Garden have created a romantic environment where the garden is slowly growing wild. The film investigates the displacement in migration and morphology of plants. And investigates some of the post-colonial environmental ramifications of transfer into the making of new subjectivity. The film offers insight by professor James Clifford and soundscapes by Max Schneider. Cinematography by Valentina Summa.
